Thanks to RedState.org through Emperor Misha, we have found some credentials for Judge Alito here on TownHall.com. These are the things that piss of the Dems, so we like them. Well, some of them. We won't comment on the others, because we don't know all the facts or refuse to entangle ourselves in a hornets nest, like the overturning of Roe.

Alito Dissented from Decision Upholding Conviction Under Federal Gun Laws; Argued that Congress Had No Right to Enact the Law. Alito also dissented from a decision upholding a conviction under the federal law prohibiting the transfer or possession of machine guns, claiming that there was not sufficient evidence in the record to show that Congress had the power under the Commerce Clause to enact the law. [See United States v. Rybar, 103 F.3d 273 (3d Cir. 1996), cert. denied, 522 U.S. 807 (1997)]

Alito Would Require Women to Notify Husbands Before Exercising Her Reproductive Rights. Alito wrote a troubling opinion concerning reproductive rights in Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey. The Third Circuit in Casey upheld a number of the provisions in the restrictive abortion law enacted by Pennsylvania in the late 1980’s, in an opinion that questioned Roe v. Wade. But the Third Circuit struck down the law’s requirement that women notify their spouses before having an abortion. Alito dissented because he would have gone even further than the rest of the court and would have upheld the spousal notification requirement. He claimed that there was no showing that there would be an undue burden on women from this mandate. [Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Alito Ruled That Investors That Bought Junk Bonds In Donald Trump’s Defunct Casino Were Not Eligible For Compensation. The 3rd Circuit Court dismissed ten consolidated lawsuits filed by investors who bought $675 million in junk bonds from Donald Trump’s Taj Mahal Casino. The investors felt that they were misled by about the amount of debt the Casino had accumulated and the risk inherent in the investment. [Pennsylvania Law Journal, 10/25/93]

1. Glad we agree. Congress has been raping that "commerce clause" for FAR too long. And it REALLY pisses of Ted "Err, ahh, how did this water get in my scotch" Kennedy. And it logically follows that if it pisses him off, then Kerry, Reed (D-NH), Diane "Turn them all in, Mr. and Mrs. America" Feinstein, and Schumer (D-NJ) must really have their panties in a wad. 2. Well, exactly who fathered the child/fetus/lump of tissue? If your dog had to be put down, would that not be a family decision? Do you just go out and shoot it because it had something other than rabies? If it had a bum leg, bee stings, or got into fight with another dog, would you not consult your other half and vet? But its somehow different when its a baby? "Its inside me, its my decision" you say? Umm, exactly how did it get created? Shouldn't someone who had a part in creating it have some say or at least the right to know beforehand (and the right to bitch about it) in the decision to destroy it?

3. Investing is risky. How many lawsuits do you see trying to get money back from the dot-com burst?

Personally, Bush could have done better. But I will reserve full judgement until I learn more about the man and his carrer, along with the types of decisions he has made and will more than likely keep making on the Supreme Court.

'Bout damn time too. With oil companies posting record profits again and again while the rest of the country is pinching pennies just to go to work, someone needs to do something.

The oil companies are going to feel the pinch themselves when trucks stop moving. When people stop shipping goods and stop going places via cars and planes, they WILL reap exactly what they have sewn. But of course, the economy will be completely in the shitter by then, and the Depression will look like a mild trough.

I also feel compelled to tell each and everyone of you to go Google "Thermal Depolymerization" and how it can give us $8 per barrel oil via our own societal waste. $8 is their cost, so with an outrageous profit margin of %50, we could have $12/barrel oil again. w00t!

And I am glad. I couldn't find more than a few words about her serving as the president of the Texas Bar and that she was a lawyer, who soon became Bush's top lawyer. It was like he nominated a ghost; she was there, yet she wasn't. Roberts had a history of law and judging. He had bona fide credentials in Constitutional Law.

Personally, I agree with many out there in the hopes that Bush grows a pair and nominates someone like Janice Rogers Brown or Alice Batchelder. (Bios here).

In the process, such attempts were forcing Muslim nations to normalize relations with Israel, he said.

Ahmadinejad is quoted as saying, "Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury."

Sen. John Kerry says President Bush should bring home 20,000 troops from Iraq over the Christmas holidays if the December parliamentary elections there are successful.

They will be brought home when they need to be brought home, and not a second before. One does not change a tire and forget the lugnuts, and one does not pull out of a war prematurely. You bring the troops home when the job is finished and assets are in place to keep the area secure and stable. If you had paid attention in Viet Nam and fought in the war instead of writing up bogus reports for scratches and disgracing your commission and your country, you would know that.

Defeated by Bush (Thank God, despite what I think of Bush) last year and a potential candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, Kerry called for a "reasonable time frame" for pulling back troops rather than a full-scale withdrawal advocated by some Democrats. He said it could be completed in 12 to 15 months.

"It will be hard for this administration, but it is essential to acknowledge that the insurgency will not be defeated unless our troop levels are drawn down ... starting immediately after successful elections in December," Kerry said in a speech Wednesday at Georgetown University.

Umm, let me get this straight...Pulling out the Armed Forces responsible for stopping the hemmoragic nature of insurgent terrorists into Iraq and training Iraq's new Army and Police is going to defeat the insurgency. What the fuck are you smoking? Where do you get this shit? What military strategy college did you attend again? Was it in France, by any chance? Thank God you aren't a doctor...

Kerry, who voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq, has been a strong critic of Bush's handling of the war, accusing the president of misleading the public into going to war.

Records turned over as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit also indicate that the FBI has investigated hundreds of potential violations related to its use of secret surveillance operations, which have been stepped up dramatically since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks but are largely hidden from public view.

In one case, FBI agents kept an unidentified target under surveillance for at least five years -- including more than 15 months without notifying Justice Department lawyers after the subject had moved from New York to Detroit. An FBI investigation concluded that the delay was a violation of Justice guidelines and prevented the department "from exercising its responsibility for oversight and approval of an ongoing foreign counterintelligence investigation of a U.S. person."

In other cases, agents obtained e-mails after a warrant expired, seized bank records without proper authority and conducted an improper "unconsented physical search," according to the documents.

The records were provided to The Washington Post by the Electronic Privacy Information Center, an advocacy group that has sued the Justice Department for records relating to the Patriot Act.

David Sobel, EPIC's general counsel, said the new documents raise questions about the extent of possible misconduct in counterintelligence investigations and underscore the need for greater congressional oversight of clandestine surveillance within the United States.

"We're seeing what might be the tip of the iceberg at the FBI and across the intelligence community," Sobel said. "It indicates that the existing mechanisms do not appear adequate to prevent abuses or to ensure the public that abuses that are identified are treated seriously and remedied."

FBI officials disagreed, saying that none of the cases have involved major violations and most amount to administrative errors. The officials also said that any information obtained from improper searches or eavesdropping is quarantined and eventually destroyed.

The shortfall could presage another political problem for the president, who unexpectedly ran into opposition from fellow Republicans questioning not only Miers's conservative credentials but also her grasp of constitutional law.

He said he was aware of only one or two members of the committee, who firmly support the nominee right now and that hearings set to begin November 7 would be a make-or-break undertaking for Miers.

"I think you have concern on these three areas -- qualification, independence, judicial philosophy -- by people of both parties and all political stripes," Schumer pointed out.

Schumer is about as qualified to choose or pontificate on good Judicial Candidates as my left ass-cheek is qualified to choose a long-distance phone plan.

Cindy Sheehan, the military mother who made her son's death in Iraq a rallying point for the anti-war movement, plans to tie herself to the White House fence to protest the milestone of 2,000 U.S. military deaths in Iraq.

"I'm going to go to Washington, D.C. and I'm going to give a speech at the White House, and after I do, I'm going to tie myself to the fence and refuse to leave until they agree to bring our troops home," Sheehan said in a telephone interview last week as the milestone approached.

Good luck with that. While we Loyal Minions are sorry for the loss of your son, we have also (along with the rest of the sane members of society) have lost our patience for your lunacy. It won't solve diddly, so quit your moonbat tirades and STFU. We don't want to hear it, and we really don't have room in our jails for the likes of you. We are already busy filling them to twice capacity with people busted for possession or other nonsense.

"And I'll probably get arrested, and when I get out, I'll go back and do the same thing," she said.

The death toll among U.S. military forces since the March 2003 invasion stood at 1,996 on Sunday.

The milestone's approach prompted plans for hundreds of other demonstrations across the United States, but for Sheehan, each military death in the Iraqi war has been a tragedy.

"To me, every single member since Number One has been tragic and needless and unnecessary," she said. "My son was somewhere around 615, and I've been working so hard for peace since my son was killed and now almost 1,400 more soldiers have been killed since Casey died."

Army Specialist Casey Sheehan was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004.

Umm, every one of those brave soldiers gave their life in the defense of their nation. Maybe if she wasn't such a MoonBat Liberal and hellbent on spitting on everything that this great nation stands for, even with its problems, she would see that everytime she performs one of these little tirades or spews her vitriolic bile in public she actually tarnishes the reputation and the good name of her son, who died fighting for something he believed in. His job as a member of the United States Armed Forces is to go where he is told and justly fight his country's foe. He did this to the death, and should be commended for it.

Beyond Sheehan's plans, a candlelight vigil is planned at the White House to mourn the 2,000-death milestone. Hundreds of other demonstrations are scheduled for the day after the milestone number is reached.

Oh, the irony. I guarantee these same people are the ones saying "No blood for oil." The ones who think that everyone and their brother should go out and buy a Toyota Prius and dump their SUV in the nearest lake. So, how do they stage a protest?

Since my last posting. Since then, I have been promoted to full time status with benefits, discovered my car is burning about 3 times more oil than it used to, and have a renewed sense of enthusiasm for firearms.

Therefore, I am going to Wanenmacher's Gun Show. I plan to take a camera and some good walking shoes. Hopefully, I will come back with a fuckton of cheap ammo and maybe even a Mosin-Nagant.

I am not going to quote the article, because then I would have to read it again. It involves being taken from the hospital while he still had a urine catheter in him and driven to the border, and spending days in jail with it still in. All for a drug crime.

Regarding Syria's eastern neighbor, Iraq, Al-Assad said the United States should re-examine its policy there because of the negative consequences of the war.

"Negative consequences" is a bit of an understatement for "Open Season and No Bag Limit on terrorists." We have known for some time now that Syria is a terrorist-harboring nation. "What did we achieve, what did they achieve from that war in Iraq," he asked. "It's a very simple question. What did they achieve economically, politically, fighting terrorism?

Umm, if you can't see the benifits in each of those catagories from fighting terror-mongers who seek the destruction of everything we hold dear, then I really can't debate the topic with you. It would be like trying to debate the benifits of breathing oxygen vs. doing without.

When Amanpour suggested the U.S.-led war ousted Saddam Hussein, Al-Assad replied, "Yeah, but what did you lose as a return? Rome wasn't built in a day, and building a peaceful society in a place that has known nothing but oppression and strife, with the added element of fanatics violently trying to stop the building of a free society, won't be easy. Getting the ideas of democracy to be fully comprehended and lived out in a society like that takes time. Good economies must be built, they do not magically appear. And for someone like you to speak on the issue of stability when your country is responsible for those that seek to prevent a free Iraq is, is, well, you just need to shut the fuck up. How fucking dare you presume to speak about terrorism and stability in Iraq when you do nothing to prevent those that do your bidding, wether or not you order them to? Al-Assad's regime has faced sharp criticism from the United States, which has alleged the country shelters terrorist organizations and has failed to take measures to prevent fighters from crossing the border into Iraq.

Al-Assad said that the United States cannot control its border with Mexico so Syria cannot be expected to keep people from sneaking into Iraq.

Once again on campus, it is Crosswalk Safety Awareness Day. And once again, I think freshmen need to pass a Life Skills 101 class before progressing on to higher level classes. Learn how to cook more than Ramen, how to separate your whites and colors, and HOW TO FUCKING LOOK WHEN CROSSING THE STREET!!! I shit you not, I have seen more people walk from sidewalk to crosswalk while talking on the phone or whatever, and NEVER BREAK THEIR GODDAMNED STRIDE!!! They never looked! At least deer fucking look at you! These people think that those little white stripes guarantee their safety! Just because they are within 10 yards of a crosswalk does not mean that we automatically notice them and follow their every move, just ready to stop for them! They haven't thought about the physics of their predicament; how their 90-180lb body is bug compared to a 3000lb vehicle, or a 28,000lb bus! Did someone equip all vehicles with an inertia-removal button and not tell me?

(screams) These people make me want to leap out of my car and beat some sense into them. Maybe if I hit one or two, people will take notice...

Delaware Supreme Court says that blogger's anonymity is safe

Its good to know that there is now legal precedent to back me up if I say that some politician (or most) that I mention by name is (insert situation appropriate slurs and insults).

At issue was a defamation lawsuit filed last year by Patrick Cahill, a councilman in Smyrna, Del. Mr. Cahill said he needed the identity of a blogger who in a September 2004 posting praised the mayor but said Mr. Cahill was divisive and had "an obvious mental deterioration."

In a second posting, the blogger, named John Doe in the suit, wrote that Mr. Cahill "is as paranoid as everyone in the town thinks he is," according to court records.

That's it? WTF? That's the most velvet-gloved derogatory thing I have ever read about a politician in a blog! If ever a man needed slapped! Can I be sued for saying that this lily-livered yellow-bellied mentally-deteriorated cur's mother wears combat boots? Can I be sued for libel or defamation for saying that this man is a sissy? Cry-baby? Wuss? How about DumbAss? If he had ignored the blogger or said that "he is entitled to his opinion", he wouldn't look so foolish.

In a 33-page opinion, the five justices reversed the lower court, saying the judge used a standard that was incorrect because it was not stringent enough. Ok, lets just put aside the fact that most lobbyists shouldn't be in charge of their own bowels, because it inevitibly ends up in some federal trash known as a "law". Now we are putting them directly in charge of making sure people are prioritized according to their needs, before the shit hits the fan? Words do not begin to describe...

Two lobbying groups, chosen by Louisiana to collect emergency requests from hospitals and nursing homes during Hurricane Katrina, found themselves instead scrambling to arrange private rescues when government teams became preoccupied with plucking citizens off rooftops.

The inability to quickly direct National Guard and other government rescue teams to health care facilities had deadly consequences.

Poor planning begets poor results. Millionares aren't made overnight, not even lotto winners. Someone had to set the whole thing up, and the winners have to keep plugging away at it.

Dozens of fragile patients died in sweltering heat and other taxing conditions that lasted for days.

That will happen when the elderly stay inside of well-insulated, sun-exposed buildings without air conditioning in SOUTH LOUISIANA!!! This is why experts, not lobbyists, need to be at the forefront of disaster planning, so that people will realize that geriatrics need A/C in the South, and that hurricanes usually take out the power that supplies that A/C. You know, people with COMMON FUCKING SENSE!!!

"We are an advocacy organization on behalf of hospitals. Overnight we turned into a hospital emergency center," Louisiana Hospital Association president John Matessino said, summing up how his group rose to rescue coordination amid the chaos.

I think everyone needs to be asking that. Smart people do not put vampires in charge of a blood bank; likewise, good government officials do not put inexperienced windbags in charge of life-and-death situations.

The state gave both the Louisiana Nursing Home Association and the Louisiana Hospital Association permanent seats at the state emergency operations center in Baton Rouge and trained them to track health facility needs and relay information to authorities who would dispatch the help.

But that plan disintegrated under the magnitude of Katrina's destruction, leaving the lobbying groups to scramble to find private alternatives when government rescuers couldn't get to facilities.

It sounds like a good plan, but when you dont have the right people's ears, the most useful information will go unheeded. I could see them being put in charge of listing supply needs or supplying data to the experts on how many cases of what type are most often in the hospitals and nursing homes, but not putting them in charge of implementing or devising a plan. Once again, we see that governments, no matter how small or large, must have people die to learn their lesson. And then it doesn't always work.

"The priority mission was picking people off of rooftops and out of water," said state Health Officer Jimmy Guidry, the main contact for the hospital and nursing home lobbies in the Louisiana disaster center.

Well, that is all fine and good, but the priority BEFORE THE FUCKING STORM was to get all the people out that couldn't do so under their own power in facilities that were being paid to ensure their patients' welfare. This is why even public schools have a plan of some kind to ensure the well-being of kids during tornadoes. Ugghh.

Guidry said he argued for nursing home and hospital requests but "it seemed like forever to get all the transportation that was being asked for."

Louisiana emergency operations spokesman Mark Smith said the choice boiled down to "if the water is about to come over the roof of someone's house do they have a need greater than the elderly person lying in their bed in the nursing home? ... They're not about to die because they're about to get swept away by a flood."

LA school suspends a student for cartwheels

Deirdre Faegre was suspended for a week after repeatedly disobeying school officials who told her not to perform gymnastic stunts during lunchtime.

Ok, so she should have listened to her teachers and stopped. But, suspension for a week? WTF? I graduated from highschool not 3.5 years ago, in May 2001. Next to them, would be the basketball players, at the outdoor goal in the "waiting area" for lunch and before school. Rough streetball kind of BBall. Unless it came to fisticuffs, nothing was said. If girls were doing cartwheels, all that might have been said would be "move over there, to the open area" where they had less obstacles and less people. What has our country come to?

Patton said Deirdre could accidentally strike another student, or injure herself, and other children could get hurt trying to imitate Deirdre, who has been doing gymnastics for five years.

Deirdre's father, Leland Faegre, said it was absurd to suspend his daughter for doing gymnastics when students were allowed to play basketball and other sports.

"Contact sports, apparently, are fine. But this one is so dangerous it requires the cartwheel cops," Faegre said.

November 6, 2004 -- Former President Bill Clinton, in his first comments on President Bush's re-election, yesterday urged Democrats not to "whine" about the outcome, but to find a "clear national message."

Yes, like "Ok, we will stop being so divisively liberal. We have sought mental counseling and have kicked Kerry out of the party."

Reminded of terrorism by the bin Laden tape, voters decided they didn't want to "change horses" during a time of heightened concern over national security, Clinton said in a speech to the Urban Land Institute at the New York Hilton.

Clinton said Hispanic voters tilted to Bush because of terrorism fears, as did suburban "soccer moms," who Clinton said turned into "the security moms of 2004."

Clinton also said that Democrat John Kerry was hurt by the polarizing issue of gay marriage, which was legalized by Massachusetts' top court and put on the ballot in 11 states, and the surfacing of a tape from Osama bin Laden in the final days of the race.

I doubt Osama had much to do with it. Even if he could quote *spit*Michael Moore*spit*. And the issue of Gay Marriage should have brought the liberal supporters of Kerry out in droves. Hell, even I voted against my state's amendment (however, I voted Bush, begrudgingly). Basically, this is SOP of the DNC, "Pass the buck", or in this case, blame, off to some party that they couldn't control and can work the troops up to bleat about their evils. Like the evils of the "family-oriented" fly-over country, who just love giving the middle finger to socialist peacenik urbanites in Chicago and the coasts.

He also said that while Democrats registered more new voters than Republicans, the Bush campaign did a better job of getting voters to the polls who were already registered but had not previously voted.

This is where the parties differ. Dems, who believe that society knows better than the individual, also have the twisted idea that their base can be motivated to action for longer than 18 picoseconds, unless it involves vandalism, destructively and violently protesting, or some other "right" they don't have. However, the GOP knows that their base has a pilot light that must be 'lit' with the spark of one of their pet issues. Once the flame is burning, the fuel finds a way to naturally increase to the point of action being taken. Remember, the bible-thumping Cary Nation conservatives twisted congress and the states into prohibition in just a few years.

Also, the Dems make more noise because they work less hours. Ever wonder why you don't see conservatives doing mass protests? Because, it takes a lot to get a day off, and the ability to walk around with a hastily-made sign doesn't make up the difference in lost pay.

Despite the GOP victory, the former president — whose wife Hillary is already being mentioned as the top contender for the White House in 2008 — said Democrats "shouldn't be all that discouraged" by Kerry's defeat.

Clinton said it would be "a mistake for our party to sit around and . . . whine about this and that or the other thing."

Clinton attributed Kerry's loss to the Democrats' failure to combat how they were portrayed by Republicans to small-town America.

Yeah, the truth hurts, doesn't it? What you mean, Mr. Clinton, is that the Dems weren't able to completely and convincingly lie about their true nature. And we know all about Hitlery and her "true nature," which makes the suggestion of her as POTUS all the more mind-boggling after the defeat the DNC was just handed with Kerry, Edwards (getting his seat handed to a Repub), and Daschle. I just can't figure out why the DNC keeps going backwards. Are they in a French Tank or something, and its stuck in gear? Either they learn, or they fade away. I continually hope for the latter.

"If we let people believe that our party doesn't believe in faith and family, doesn't believe in work and freedom, that's our fault," he said.

Yes. All your freedom and work belongs to the state, and you should feel happy that we let you have some of it back.

Democrats "need a clear national message, and they have to do this without one big advantage the Republicans have, which is they won't have a theological message that basically paints the other guy as evil," he said.

I dont recall the RNC painting Kerry as evil. He pretty much did that himself, with his senate record and his own words.

People often find it difficult to escape the bullet of their own past in politics. Only they will determine wether they are armored for that bullet, much like Bush admitting to his previous drug and alcohol problems. It immediatly became a non-issue.

Clinton said the country was more divided than it was in 1968 and called for an end to the "culture war."

Sure. But do you know how difficult it is to actively turn a liberal? It has to be done with their effort. You can't just grab a bottle of "Governmental Common Sense" off the wall and mix it in their drink.

In his hourlong speech Clinton, who had open-heart surgery in September, gave Bush and the Republicans full credit for the election victory.

"The Republicans had a clear message, a good messenger, great organization and great strategy," he said.

Well, I wouldn't go that far, unless you are talking about terrorism. I always thought handling terrorism was a binary proposition, either you support/harbor them, or you kick their ass. That was right up until I heard Kerry and saw his record. He may not support them, but he sure as hell doesn't seem to be too enthusiastic about kicking their ass.

Clinton said Bush should use his second term to move toward less dependence on foreign oil.

Yeah, lets start opening up some local production, like the Gulf and ANWR, and get thermal depolymerization in high gear. Glad we agree...

"This election presents a great opportunity for President Bush and a great opportunity for Democrats, and the two are not necessarily in conflict," he said.

The biggest opportunity he noted was the prospect of an Israeli-Palestinian peace amid the impending demise of Yasser Arafat.

Peace in the region would "take enormous steam" out of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism worldwide, Clinton said. "They would have to think of a new excuse to murder people."

They'll be in conflict just as soon as Pelosi has any say.

And as far as a "new excuse to murder people," this statement just solidifies how ignorant you are about terrorism. Their "excuses to murder people" are "because they are Christian/Meddling in Middle East affairs/Support Israel/are American." I hardly think they will run out of reasons just because Arafat is dead. His death will exacerbate terrorism and conflict in the region.

Well, I was all set today to change my oil, oil filter, and brake pads today, and I was off to Wal-Mart to get some brake cleaning spray, oil, some Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer to winterize my bike with, and some fuel injector cleaner gas additive. I got carded for all but the oil, and the bitch was >< that close to carding me for that. I didn't have my ID on my person, and wouldn't have handed it to her if I did. I am 21 years old, and have never been carded for alcohol, yet I get carded for automotive supplies that I have been buying for 5 years.

Shit, I could walk up to a counter in an Autozone and say "I want a case of Brake CLeaner" and they would say "Ok. $XX dollars please." And being carded for injector cleaner and Sta-Bil? WTF? Have I been away from high school so long that I don't know about the evils of fuel additives? Do 12 year olds sit around and drink shots of Sta-Bil and chase it with injector cleaner? Where is the logic in these policies? Do Wal-Mart execs have so much goddamned money that they are trying to drive customers into the waiting arms of their competitors? Competitors that don't treat their customers like criminals? If I want to be treated like a criminal, I will go to a gun store. At least they have some inane law that says they have to treat everyone like that. Wal-Mart just hates people that want to give them money.

I used to joke that Sam Walton was not only spinning in his grave, but their was a memo circulating Home Office that proposed strapping magnets to his corpse and casket to generate electricity. These days, I doubt it would take them much convincing.

Well, I am back after the election-season hiatus. I rather enjoyed not looking at it, because I just know that my stomach would look like I swallowed a shotgun blast from ulcers. I voted for Bush, but wished I would have known just how much Arkansas was going to go to Bush by so that I could have notched up Badnarik's total by 1. Oh well. Update on Betsey: She is not pregnant. Probably for the better, as she is too old for her first litter.

Ok, so on to the election wrap-up:

Once again, the DNC got another chance at a wake-up call (after Dukakis, Mondale, etc) with running yet another Yankee Liberal who was so Goddamned out of touch with normal Americans that it was sickening. Where the hell do they get these people? More importantly, what dumbfucks keep telling the DNC leadership that these people could win? Kerry, to paraphrase him, was the wrong candidate at the wrong time with the wrong strategy to win. His supporters were the duped and the blinded by hate. Even Kerry's coattails let about a dozen ride to failure. Daschole was kicked out. Senate and House seats were lost.

What will the Left Wing NOT learn from this experience?

Simple. What the left-wing loony liberals will not take from this election is that THEY DO NOT REPRESENT MAINSTREAM AMERICA. The elitist scum that panders to the "gimmies" and brainwashes people through the media with twisted half-truths and deliberate lies have been revealed for what they are. Running the most leftist Senator the US has ever seen, a man that would have been lynched in the McCarthy days, a man that makes TED FREAKING KENNEDY look conservative, is NOT the way to win. The DNC handed the GOP its greatest victory in over 40 years by running John Kerry, a man without principles, a spine, or an ounce of consistency. A man who has voted against the military time and time again. The DNC forced the hands of the US electorate and produced the LARGEST amount of voters in history because they ran a candidate so repugnant to mainstream views.

The voters of South Dakota also put Daschle out on his ass. They saw through the bull he spewed, saw that he DID NOT represent South Dakota, but instead the mainstream of the DNC, like the views of Kerry and Clinton. John Edwards's seat was handed to a republican, to make a point about how they feel about the DNC and Edwards.

In other words: TAKE A HINT. Look at the county by county map of America. 85% of it is red. Either start representing America, or go the way of the Whigs. In fact, please do. We desperately need the LP to become a 2nd party.

And to the EU/UN: Piss off. You dont control us, and we dont give a flying fuck what you think. Your opinion of our country matters not. You can write all the whiney opinion pieces you want, but you don't fucking matter. GET IT? Jim March just finished Filming "the debate show"

Ok, Jim March, a field representitive for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms was duped into being on a very harassing parody show, called "Crossballs" on Comedy Central, which he was led to fraudulently believe was going to be an honest debate on a show due to air on the MTV Networks. Being the upstanding guy he is, and convinced that there was going to be an honest debate with rational people, he went.

At the link above, you can read the whole gory detail of how the shit hit the fan. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty. The treatment he recieved was absolutely deplorable. At one point, Jim was threatened with a large rock by some lunatic on the show, threatened to the point where Jim felt his life was in danger. If he would have been allowed to carry a defensive firearm by California's draconian gun laws, he would have most likely broken leather. It was that serious.

Now, he is fighting them with every legal means possible. They fraudulently conned him into signing a release that did not pertain to the show he was actually filming, and many other things that rendered the contract null and void. He has a lawyer who I think is helping him Pro Bono, but needs our help. Its the least we can do, as Jim March is one of the biggest pro-2nd Amendment activists in all of California, plus a paid California Lobbyist to boot.

All you have to do is post a link to his lawyer's site to increase his Google rating. the site is http://www.cloud9photography.us/ and he would like it to be linked with the words "Airplane Pictures." Just like this:

Give Bush the same upbeat reporting you give Kerry, or start tearing up Kerry's record. Either way, give both candidates equal good/bad reporting. Or better yet, just report the facts, without slant! Al Qaeda ~~militants~~ TERRORISTS say they were helped by Saudi forces:

What we have to ask ourselves is "Do we believe Al-Queda, or the Saudis?" On the one hand, the Saudi government could be denying it because it is completely false, and Al-Queda is just trying to stir up shit and create distrust between the US and SA. On the other hand, Al-Queda is telling the truth, and is doing so because it will make the US less trustful of Saudi Arabia.

What they dont realize is that if we get enough evidence of Saudi duplicity (they are already on thin ice in my book with the whole OBL connection), we will simply invade. I heard that the EU constitution was ratified last week, and wanted to know exactly what was in it. I see the EU in several different lights:

1. They will most likely be a Socialist's Only Club who likes to hear themselves speak, much like the Useless Nincompoops.
2. They could become active enough to be the next Soviet Union, although I doubt that because they have had lots of bloodshed over there, and we cleaned up most of it. And they know that we could go over there and kick their ass whenever we pleased. Its not difficult to conquer the disarmed, much like Hitler found out with the Jews. By that, I mean that once we wiped out their military, their citizenry couldn't put up much of a fight (sans Switzerland, but that is terrible terrain for a war anyway) because 90% of their firearms were removed from their possession, and the other 10% have to have need shown to the government to own them, and then they must be locked up separate from ammo, and broken down. Often, they must be stored at a gun club. A pack of Girl Scouts armed with Sporks could take over France, without much effort.
3. A body of blowhards that will fall apart because no one can come to an agreement about a future issue, and collapse/civil war breaks out in the EU.

So, I really dont fear them, unless the whole of the EU experiences economic collapse like 1920's Germany, and we all know what came out of that.

The point is: Now that it is known that not only is the sKerry-ites's worst enemy (Bush) saying there was a link, but the sKerry-ites's best friend also said there was a link. So what is one to do when his best friend and worst enemy are telling him the same thing?

Well, in Kerry's case, he will probably ignore it. We all know the tendencies of Democrats to ignore any bit of logic they happen to stumble accross. Just ask any politically active gun-owner. Facts are useless to Dems.

The interview also covered the war in Iraq, which was not mentioned in yesterday's excerpts. Rather said Clinton was "supportive" of President Bush on Iraq and that "it will surprise some people."

But then again, the article also states that Clinton didn't have the chance for OBL's head on a platter supposedly offered by the Sudanese. I personally call bullshit on that one. YMMV.

I have never wanted to haul off and deck a waiter so bad in all my life.

Backstory: I met a girl from highschool that I hadn't seen in about 3 years last week. We have known each other since 4th grade, and were great friends.

I took her to dinner yesterday to a Mexican restaurant. She speaks more Spanish than I do, and the waiter finds this out. So, he started BLATANTLY flirting with her. And what's worse, she flirts back! He asks her number. AND SHE FUCKING GIVES IT TO HIM!!!!

Now I don't care where you are from, there are certain things you don't do. I dont fucking care if you are some prick from Paris, you don't start hitting on a girl when she is with a guy. If we aren't in business atire and I don't have a big assed ring on my left hand, then I AM THERE TO SCORE POINTS WITH HER!!! GAAAHHH!!! It was one of those moments that I wanted tequila and something to beat the ever-lovin' shit out of.

What's more is that he comes back and ASKS HER ON A DATE FOR TUESDAY!!! She said she would call him. Well, I don't care how good a friend she was, she will have to call me for me to talk to her. I am not going to volunteer to be miserable.

Sorry about that. I had to prepare for my Nasville trip last week, I rode out 2 days of road lag on Monday and Tuesday, and have been generally slacking off.

*I went off Atkins. Its too bloody expensive. I will go on it again, but when I have more $$$.
*I am considering selling my Witness 10mm for a 1911. Its lighter, parts abound, ammo is FAAARRR cheaper, its a proven design, etc. etc....Hell, if I keep going towards simpler guns, I will be shooting revolvers here soon.
*I might be taking a paper route. Its the perfect time of day, short hours, and gives me an added boost in my wallet, and there is really no dress code beyond "Comfy and reasonable." Hooray for shorts! All good things.
*I got an account on Fark. Now I can show off just how horrible my photoshopping skillz are.

Trip: Drove to Nashville and back. Had a great time with Oleg and the THR TN Mafia. Got hooked on 1911's, shot a Mosin Nagant 1938, an HK "Sten" clone, a Garand (God's own rifle), a .41 Magnum (6 is enough. Yowser!), a couple of 9mm's including a Ruger, a Sig Sauer, and a Glock 17, a Glock 29 compact 10mm (which recoiled less than the Witness, oddly enough), and an AR-15. I find it very weird that both the 1911 and the Glock 17 fit me just fine.

Best damned day off I have had in months. I went to the range out at Hobb's Recreational area shooting range, off of Hwy 12 east of Rogers. Bit of a drive, but well worth it today.

I got out there with my dad's .22lr single shot, my WASR-10 Full-Cap (AK-style semi-auto), and my Czech 24/47 8mm Mauser, otherwise known as a Laudenboomingthumper. It packs a whollup.

When I arrived, there were a couple of people out there, just doing their thing with some pistols. I set up my target for the .22lr when they paused, and got setup to shoot @ 25yds. Now I dont get to shoot much, so I need some practice nonetheless. I flinch a little, even with ear protection shooting a .22lr. Stop laughing. Anyway, I am just plodding along: chamber, cock, breathe, slowly let half out, sqeeze, pop. Repeat. About 15rds go downrange, and I go to look at my target. Not a single Goddamned hole in the paper. WTF? So, I decide to change where I aim. Nada. One of the guys shooting there tried it. Guy seemed like he knew more than I did by his stance, and I was surprised when he missed. Ok, I had had enough of the .22.

They left, and I had the range to myself. Its not a large range, but its an outdoor range. I felt like I was the only person within 100miles, and that is exactly what I was needing. I had never felt so relaxed. That range is so beautiful. All of Arkansas's splendrous, majestic beauty just everywhere. It didnt feel like I was in the forest perse, but I could look and just 10ft to my left or right was nature like it had never been disturbed. Bird chirping, Butterflys that you never see in the city, a surprising lack of stinging insects and allergens. My oh my, it was exactly what I needed. I could just sigh and feel like I had the whole state to myself, and I just cant adequately describe how wonderfully relaxing it felt to be out there. It wasnt even hot, and there was a gentle breeze. Couldnt ask for more. Well, the Sweedish Bikini team with cold beers...anyway...

Ok, now to the serious part. I get out the 8mm Mauser. In all of its steel-buttplated and freshly polyurethaned beauty. I put a towel under my shirt over my shoulder, because otherwise I cant shoot more than 5rds. I am shooting at 25yds, because the last time I shot it @ 100, 3rds out of 10 hit an 8.5x11" sheet of paper. This is with iron sights, which I suck at. Medal of Honor and its Playstation variants doesnt exactly prepare you for that.

Anyway, I slowed my breathing after chambering a round. It was steady on the jackstand (a subsitute for expensive bench resting equipment) and I sqeezed the trigger with the sights where I wanted them. BOOOMTHUMP!!! Well, it was on the paper, and pretty danged close to the dot. 19 more rounds and all of them on paper. Odd thing is that this gun when it gets hot starts sending its shots lower than when it starts, instead of many Remingtons and rising with heat. All in all, a good day.

I later discovered that the .22 shoots 3.5" high @ 10yds! WTF? I most certainly think that a major sight adjustment is in order.

And then, my car started beckoning for me to push it to the limits. It seemed to like the curvy nature of the highway... 35mph corner??? Bah! 55mph and climbing, no tire sqealing and feeling like it wanted more...OOoooh. I get it out on the highway, and it beckons for more gas. Ooooh. 70...75....85...90...95...ahh, that feels good...DAMN. Road construction. Sigh. 15min waiting and creeping along, never getting above 20mph. Ok, so I get out of that. Yay. The car wants more gas....100mph, here I come. Wow, this car just glides along. Its been so long since I did what this car was made for: Cruising the Autobahn. Well, it had to settle for the Arkansabahn. (Ar-kan-sah-baahhn. Say it with me: Arkansabahn.) Otherwise known as I-540. People doing 80-90mph all the time...

Like I said before you inbred illiterate moron, my state has no such nonsense as Child Access Prevention Laws. We believe in COMMON SENSE AND PARENTING, which you obviously have no clue about. I encourage parents to be responsible in their gun ownership, and put their guns where kids cant get to them, or to leave them unloaded. By the way, in an earlier email you said that a kid could rack the slide and purposely chamber a round. That is nolonger negligent shooting, it is instead HOMICIDE. A child has murdered another. Sure, a parent would be an accomplice. But, if that parent has live rounds under the SafetyBullets, then its still a loaded gun and the parent is liable in any case.

Sure, those parents had brains. They sure as hell weren't using them, now were they? How hard will it be for a kid to figure out your product? Even if it prevents only one death, how many will it cause from guns being rendered useless? How many will it not prevent, like the afformentioned murderous intent of some kid?

The only safety device that I will use aside from my BRAIN which controls my actions, therefore determines exactly how safe I am, is a gunsafe, to get the guns out of the open and out of reach of hands I dont want touching them.

Safety Bullet, a worthless peice of crap

Ok, let me first apologize to the readers for not posting in a few days. Schedule has been all topsy turvy, and I havent really had a chance to post.

Ok, now what I came here for.

The Safety Bullet is being marketed as a handgun safety device, one that lodges something in the barrel of your semi-auto or renders the cylinder of your revolver immobile. It is supposed to be counteracted by a wooden dowel. The whole point of the product is supposedly to prevent negligent homicides from children playing with guns.

I post frequently on THR and this is where this all started taking place. My handle there is the same as the handle here, Moparmike. A guy called Safety Bullet, has 4 posts (ie a newbie) and has only dropped by to plug his product. He even dredged up an old thread that hadnt been posted on in days just to plug it.

He then decides to email me out of the blue, all because I said "I wouldnt recommend doing this." The exchange follows, undedited:

Yes, gun proof the kids. And in my opinion, your invention is not the best idea for the problem. Imagine what happens when your kid finds the gun and points it at his best friend. Ok, his best friend doesnt get shot, but what happens when your kid doesnt think anything has happened or doesnt tell you that he lodged something in your gun? Later that night, someone breaks into your house and you go to action with your gun. You drop the mag, you load a good one, and rack the slide. What you dont know during your adreanaline-soaked rush to save your family from a potential threat is that your gun will instantly KABOOOM in your hand if you need to use it. Or it will be rendered a club if the round doesnt fully seat. So, your invention has just robbed you of the ability to defend your family. Sounds good so far, huh?

And another thing: how will this prevent negligence in people just leaving their firearms laying around? "Its safe, it has The Saftey Bullet™ in it!"

The whole reason I object to your product is a similar reason I object to chamber indicators and such: It encourages negligence. If people actively take steps to ensure that they are being safe with firearms (storage, handling, teaching), then the risks go down. Kids who find guns and injure themselves are the children of neglectful parents. Parents need to instill the fear of God in their children when it comes to their firearms, and need to actively take steps to ensure that the children cant get to them. Like pistol safes and such.

Ah, you didn't read the patent info so your responding based on your own conjecture which is bullshit. If you had read the patent you would know that you can't load a new round in the chamber because you can't cycle the action.

So you make assumtions and condemn something based on your own mistaken believes. So what you saying is that saving a kid is second to your haveing a loaded gun. Sad just plain sad.

Tell you what here is a $100 bet. We go to a gun range you get any safety device you want, any! Lets see who can get the gun to fire first. I will win every time.

1st: My brain is my safety. I dont rely on devices to keep me from doing stupid things, and I dont encourage others to do so either. Keeping my pistol unloaded and in a safe place will be faster to load then to lodge something in the barrel. And I have read your site, btw. I have not recieved a reply yet. I shall post it if he does. I thought I was being rather civil during this, and he was being rather rude. Some people I will just tell them off without a second thought, but I suspect that is exactly what he wanted.

I am going to block his emails if he emails me again. I probably should right now.

Personally, I stand by my first response: This product will encourage negligence. We need less products raising our children, and more involved parents. Go ask your grandparents and ask them how dangerous chemicals were stored places that children could reach, because they would have to use them safely like they were taught. Go ask them how many had a gun around, that they knew was loaded, and didnt touch because they knew better? How many of them could go to the hardware store and buy a .22lr rifle if they wanted, even at the age of 12? I am only 20, but there are some things I refuse to let raise my future children. Fear is one of them. Prudence, on the other hand, is one of the many things that helps raise children. Like pluging wall sockets. If you are storing guns where your children can easily reach them before you have tought them gun safety (like "DONT TOUCH"), you are a MORON.

One other thing: This guy might want to invest in some spelling and grammar lessons. If he is going to be taken serious as an entrepreneur, then he is going to have to communicate well.

People from all countries and all walks of life coming together, being proud to be who they are, competing against eachother to see who is the best, congratulating the victors and all competitors on a job well done, and then going home to train for the next Olympiad. These people need to get a check-up from the neck-up.
